Thanks to @melattree for sharing the link to this one. WinkSite is a point-and-click service for creating sites specifically tailored to mobile phones.
Unlike the ancient TagTag.com, though, WinkSite offers some pretty powerful packaged addons, like message boards, guestbooks, a blog, and a live chat system. A full list of the Community Channels:
- Blog
- Journal
- My Feeds
- My Events
- Field Reports
- Notes
- Chat
- Forum
- Surveys
- Zine
- Guestbook
- Links
- My Profile
- Site Info
WinkSite also offers services and addons like basic stats tracking, basic SEO, visitor geolocation, directory listing, password-lockable sites and a self-service advertising platform.
Yes, that’s a lot. Especially when you’re giving it away for free.
WinkSite allows you to create up to 5 sites, each with 20 “Content Channels” (ie, pages), and as many of the Community channels as you want.
I set up my own little site, just to test the service:

Yes, that’s an embedded mobile site (another wicked cool feature of WinkSite). Not bad for 30 seconds of work. I’d imagine that someone with a vested interest in creating a good mobile site will have no trouble here whatsoever, since everything is designed to be user friendly. I almost missed typing in my own HTML markup…

and you can use a service like handsetdetection.com if you already have a normal site and want all the traffic coming through one url.
Ok, jack, enjoy your free link ;) And thanks for it - looks like a very interesting service.
