Finally, after all the bitching and whining and ego poking, we’re using social media for something a whole lot more productive - raising money for the Blogger Bakeoff campaign.
Chris got things rolling by posting to iMod about his intention to donate R200 to Breadlines if his entry on Muti got 100 votes. It didn’t take very long for the rest of the local blogosphere to respond - as I’m writing this there are over R1500 in pledges, should the Muti entry hit the 100-vote mark.
Unfortunately, it’s not the entire blogosphere involved in this. Rafiq decided to do us all the favor of explicitly stating that he’s not taking part - then decided to ride off the campaign to drive more traffic to his sites. Ag nee man :(
If you’d like to vote up the post, or make a pledge (doesn’t have to be R200, and you don’t need a credit card - EFT can be arranged (that’s how I managed to pledge)), check out Chris’ post, or the Muti thread.

Writing that post IS participating. Please show me where it is stated that Web AddiCT(s); do not support the campaign?
Do you know why I am not donating? No.
“my sites” do you know where the money goes that is generated from them? No.
Have you met my wooden spoon? No.
Thank you for the mention. Some things are best left out of the public time line. Get me on IM and I’ll tell you the story.

1. HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA at comments above.
2. This is great Wogan, finally a social media campaign for a good cause, which isn’t cluttering the channels with social spam ;)
Good on you for extra exposure!
1. Glad to make your day happier ;)
The thing that’s making this work is the fact that it’s all coming back to a central thread on Muti, and everyone involved is blogging and linking to eachother. There’s no one or two people taking the social credit for everything.
Now let’s go feed some kids … :)
Wogan - you made a lot of days happier! Thanks for joining the campaign!
@Sarah No problem ;) I’m just happy we finally have a common goal to focus our energies on…
