Journey of a Dragon

Introducing BlogForge
Posted at: 10:03 pm on Saturday, 12th July, 2008

logoBlogForge is a local South African blog, first and foremost. It’s basically a blog about blogging - with an upcoming guide on how to write better blog posts. Hopefully, this will be the first of many.

BlogForge also publishes information on local and international blog-related services and upgrades - basically, anything that will help a newcomer on their journey to establishing their first blogs.

If you know of any blogs, websites, services or technologies that you think the local `sphere could use, feel free to let me know. I’d like to build the most comprehensive resource center possible. And remember - local is lekker ;)

Here it is: http://blogforge.co.za/. Enjoy!

Hey there!

It’s on my list of posts to write :) Just stick around, I’m sure you’ll find the answers you need soon enough :)

What would help is if you know of any third-party widgets, sites or services that you think would benefit local bloggers. Maybe even powerful wordpress plugins? I’d appreciate it :)

Mmk … well, the most USEFUL WordPress plugin I’ve used so far is the Automatic Update (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/) … I was petrified of having to upgrade and this little download handled the whole process brilliantly! No mess, no fuss =) And with 2.6 just around the corner, I’ll definitely be using it again.

Design-wise, check out http://welovewp.com for a great gallery of WP Themes from great designers. Wonderful inspiration! Adii’s WooThemes is featured there too …

If you’re looking to make money, or other ways of spicing things up, then http://www.problogger.net/ is a good resource.

And definitely subscribe to feeds - you can learn loads from others who are doing the same thing!

Join some networks to discover new blogs - MyBlogLog is a good one. There are also a few Facebook groups and networks for bloggers (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2313123320). Hook up with other like-minded people and start interacting.

Gosh, there’s loads more out there, but I’ve rambled enough for now =)

Wow, you just jump right in to the deluge :)

I’ve already saved your comment, and I’ll be sure to get to most of them as BlogForge progresses.

Thanks!
