Gmail Redesigned

I’m basically sharing this post, which was originally by the Deshantan, but he seems to have vanished offline for now. That, and this skin is wicked.

The screenshot to the left is the actual result. This patch basically replaces the CSS that Gmail Standard uses, and makes for a much better experience. This will only work if you’re running Firefox 2 or later, and in my opinion - and the opinions of others - is worth it.

Steps:

1. Download and install Stylish
2. Open this link, right-click the Stylish icon, and Add File To Stylish (make sure Gmail is closed first)
3. Open Gmail, and that’s all there is to it!

Some other stuff

I’m really impressed. The images used here are actually included in the new CSS document, and are not referenced externally. This reduces download time tremendously, and I’m considering using something like this in my own projects.

Now if only I could do a display: none; for those useless ads…
